The summer is a distant memory at the moment, especially with the current weather here in the UK, snow, cold, ice and even more of the same. Even now the snow continues to tumble from the sky. Just as the Snowdrops were beginning to look their best the snow engulfs them all, including the early Crocus and Iris. Hopefully the snow and extreme cold will not affect them that much.
Spring is now here and i am sure the cold will put the growth of many plants back, it seems that each year the weather conspires to make it hard for us gardeners to keep on track. Although on the positive side, the cold may reduce the pesky beasts that devour our prized blooms during the summer months.
