Lychnis Coronaria is a simple and easy plant to grow. In mid summer the plant throws up several spikes and produces reddish or white blooms on the ends of the spikes and will flower all through the summer. Generally a bi-annual or short lived perennial. Usually they will last around 2 maybe 3 seasons before dying off. Although this is made up by the vast amount of seeds produced and the ease at which they grow. If left unchecked Lychnis will take over within just a few years. So if you grow this plant be prepared to pull out all the unwanted plants that are produced, or just simply move them or give some to friends.
Lychnis Coronaria as stated before in the colours of the flowers above and below.
Above is the foliage of the plant is is quite distinctive as the leaves have hairs on them and quite tightly drawn together. Slugs like to hide inside the leaves so beware if they are next to something tender.
