London Pride

The foliage of London Pride

London pride is a perfect ground cover plant, it will spread across the ground and is very low growing, an alpine plant which looks like roseetes on the soil.

The best way to get to get the plant it to divide existing plants or to take cuttings. London pride are challenging to grow from seed.  There is plenty of resources already that cover this subject on other sites.

The fine flowers appear on small stems from the center of the plants May onwards, once the flowers have finished the stems can be cut back. Division can be done in the spring March/April or later in the year in October/November. At the end of the season, there is not much that needs to be done, remove some of the dead leaves, then leave for the winter, the following spring there maybe some more leaves that need to be removed. In essence a very low maintenace plant.
